Hildesheim against Ostbevern: Women's team fights for the first win of the season!
A dramatic setback for BSV Ostbevern! On Saturday at 7 p.m., the team faces a decisive challenge against the women from Hildesheim, but the blue and whites have to do without three of their middle blockers! Johanna Struffert is currently in Asia, while Anna Borowek is fighting a knee injury. And as if that weren't enough, the captain Sabrina Roer is also in the USA for two weeks! Only newcomer Hannah Theis remains of the regular staff.
The Situation is tense, and coach Dominik Münch is concerned: "Sometimes we have experienced it compactly, sometimes." Hildesheim, currently in fifth place in the 2nd volleyball Bundesliga, has already won two victories this season, including an impressive 3-0 victory in Cottbus. The Ostbeverner hope for their first season success, but the personnel bottlenecks make the task all the more difficult. "We had great games against them," says Münch, who sees the opponents as a serious challenge.
Missing players and strategic changes
To fill the gaps, Marie Kolkmann, who once started as a middle blocker, will return to this role after being retrained to the foreign attacker. In addition, Marie Ewelt from the second team joins the squad to support the team. Another option, the Federal Cup winner Lea Peters, cannot play because she does not yet have the necessary two-game right.
The question remains whether Pauline Gravermann, who got a capsule injury to the thumb a week ago, can appear against Hildesheim. The signs are bad for the Ostbeverner, who have to adapt to an intensive competition. The coming hours will be decisive to see if the team can master the challenges!
