A dramatic incident has shaken the Ahrensfelde S-Bahn station! On Saturday evening, November 2nd, a devastating fire broke out in a train on the Niederbarnim Railway. The fire department was alerted when the three wagons were already on fire. Fortunately, there were no passengers on board, but the train driver and a train attendant had to be looked after by paramedics on site. Both remained uninjured, which is a small ray of hope in this tense situation.

Station closed – replacement service set up!
The Ahrensfelde S-Bahn station was completely closed during the fire brigade operation, which led to significant traffic disruptions. To support travelers, a replacement bus service was set up. The good news: The S-Bahn is now running regularly again. However, the tracks will remain closed to regional traffic for the time being while emergency services extinguish the last embers.
