Fire in heating system: residents injured in Bergisch Gladbach!

Bergisch Gladbach shakes from alasitz in the heating system

A dramatic fire in a heating system caused a stir in the town center of Bergisch Gladbach on Sunday afternoon! At around 1:30 p.m., a concerned caller alerted the fire department after attempting but failing to extinguish the raging fire himself. The alerted rescuers were quickly on their feet and sent several emergency services to the scene of the fire!

When they arrived, the firefighters met the brave caller who had apparently sustained minor injuries in a small explosion. The emergency services immediately attended to him and took him to hospital for further treatment. The fire department, equipped with ten vehicles and a strong team of 27 emergency services, was determined to immediately extinguish the fire in the heating system, which was classified as a small fire.

Quickly under control, but a lot of smoke!

The firefighters quickly managed to fight the fire using a small fire extinguisher. But the rising smoke quickly made it clear that the situation was serious! The heating system was immediately unplugged and firefighters provided extensive ventilation to the area. A chimney sweep was called in to inspect and repair, and the fire brigade was able to safely hand over the site at around 2:50 p.m. During the entire time, Sander Strasse was completely closed due to the operation, which kept residents and passers-by in suspense. A day-long effort that wakes us all up!
