Bloody argument in Ehrenfeld: Ex-boyfriend stabs his wife!

A serious incident occurred in Cologne that attracted the attention of the judiciary. A 29-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly attacked his ex-partner with a knife. At the beginning of the trial, the defendant confessed to the incident but denied allegations of a planned killing.

The defendant and the 23-year-old woman had a relationship characterized by jealousy and control. According to the prosecutor's statement, the separation in December last year turned out to be difficult because the man did not want to accept the decision. Despite a court ban on contact, he sought contact with the woman several times.

Perfidious trap with an acquaintance

In February, the defendant appeared at his ex-partner's apartment. He was tailing her and when she spotted him she tried to get to safety. According to the investigation, the man lured the woman into a trap by using a mutual acquaintance to organize a meeting without her knowledge. When she realized that he was sitting in the friend's car, she reacted angrily and wanted to leave.

It was at this moment that the accused attacked her. He used a Swiss Army knife to injure the woman, with the blade hitting her head, upper body and arms. Targeted stabs even left a cut across the face. Luckily, the friend intervened and was able to prevent something worse from happening. The woman's injuries were later treated at hospital and were serious but not life-threatening.

Honor killing is the focus of the prosecution

In their plea, the public prosecutor spoke of attempted murder for base motives. According to the prosecution, the man felt his honor was violated because he wrongly assumed that his ex-partner was talking to other men. However, the defendant himself made it clear that the attack was not planned. Before the incident, he had consumed cocaine, which led to chaos in his head.

The accused explained that he still loved the woman and that the aggression had its origins in his ex-partner's strange relationship. The judge could only react dryly to his excuses and expressed skepticism about the emotionality of his statements. The trial remains tense as the allegations and evidence continue to be examined.

The man, who fled Syria before staying in Germany, expressed remorse for his actions and questioned how he could do such a thing to someone he loves. The courtroom witnessed an emotional and legally complex case in which the background to an attempted honor killing is carefully examined.
