Walter Plathe inspires at the Heinrich Zille Prize in Radeburg!
The 74-year-old actor Walter Plathe surprised the guests at the awarding of the Heinrich Zille caricature award in Radeburg. He was accompanied by three colleagues from the Berlin Zille Museum and has a personal connection to Heinrich Zille because a Zille book was given to him as a child. Growing up in a Berlin backyard, Plathe estimated the humorous representations of everyday life through Zille.
As part of the award ceremony, the cartoonists nominated for the price presented their works under the motto "Mensch old, each Oller, the Doller!". Peter Ufer from the Gallery comic master pointed out to the current poverty report of the federal government, which addresses the increasing life expectancy. Uwe Krumbiegel, the winner of the Zille Prize, showed a cartoon about the love life of older people. Plathe also expressed the desire for an exchange between the Zille Museum and the Heimatmuseum in Radeburg.
