Schöneweide becomes the first committed city of Berlin - a network is created!

Schöneweide, a district of Berlin, has the honor of being the first part of the nationwide network program "committed city"! This exciting program aims to create sustainable networks in Treptow-Köpenick that strengthen voluntary commitment in the region. The responsibility for the coordination lies in the hands of the social space-oriented planning coordination of the Treptow-Köpenick district office.

On November 6th there was an revealing tour in which the actual situation of voluntary engagement was recorded in Schönweide. Various actors from Upper and Lower Schöneweide had the opportunity to share their valuable experiences. The important stations included the Center for Democracy, the neighborhood house Villa offensive and the Wuhlheide citizens' initiative. These initiatives are crucial for strengthening the sense of community and promoting civic engagement in the neighborhood.

online survey planned!

In the upcoming phases, an online survey among the residents of Schöneweid is carried out in order to gain further insights into the voluntary commitment. This survey is supported by the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion and carried out in cooperation with the Unionhilfswerk. The aim is to promote democracy and to hear the voices of the citizens. Schöneweide is on the best way to become a model for other parts of the city!
