According to a statement from the Berliner Schaubühne, which is based on information from his family, Diehl succumbed to his fate on November 4th. A loss that shocks the theater world!
Diehl, born in Offenbach, leaves behind an impressive career and two sons who followed in his footsteps. He was a permanent member of the Schaubühne am Halleschen Ufer in Berlin from 1970 to 1980 and later returned regularly as a guest. His acting skills shined not only on stage, but also in numerous television productions, including the legendary works of Dieter Wedel. “The Schaubühne is saying goodbye to a great actor and wonderful colleague,” said Thomas Ostermeier, the theater’s artistic director, full of sadness at the loss.
