Spandau Badge of Honor: Seven personalities honored for their commitment!

District Mayor Frank Bewig honored seven outstanding personalities with the Golden Spandau Badge of Honor 2024 in a glittering ceremony! Around 130 guests gathered in the impressive Gothic Hall of the Spandau Citadel to honor the extraordinary achievements of these volunteers. This award is not only a sign of respect, but also a celebration of the commitment these individuals have made to the Spandau district.

The honorees are: Dr. Gul-Rahim Safi, Jürgen Pufahl, Jiska Donat, Sandra Goldmann, Roswitha Petersen, Sleiman El-Kerdi and Dieter Krepel. “The Spandau Badge of Honor always provides a worthy framework for the topic of commitment in our district and, with it, the deserved respect for the award winners and their outstanding services to our Spandau,” emphasized Bewig proudly. The evening was marked by personal tributes from Florian Kunz, superintendent of the Evangelical Church in Spandau, and culminated in the ceremonial presentation of the gold badges of honor and the certificates.

An unforgettable moment

The highlight of the evening was the symbolic moment when the seven honorees immortalized themselves with their signature in Spandau's Golden Book. This tradition, which has existed since 2001, is an integral part of the honors in the district and is always carried out as part of a festive ceremony in the Spandau Citadel. The detailed speeches in honor of those honored can be read on the Spandau District Office website.
