The CDU parliamentary group in the Pankow district council has called for urgent measures to improve the safety of students at the Platanen primary school in Blankenfelde. In an application that the parliamentary group published on its website, a crossing aid on the main road is requested. This measure is particularly necessary because students have to cross the street every day to get lunch. While the younger students in grades 1 and 2 are accompanied by educational staff, older students cross the street independently, which poses an increased risk. In order to avoid accidents, the CDU is appealing to the district office to review short-term solutions to reduce speed on the main road until the crossing aid comes into force.
