Buchholz Nord: Berlin creates a new industrial area for the future!

Berlin. In Berlin an impressive commercial area is planned to boost industrial development! The Senate has paved the way for a gigantic area of around 200 hectares in the French-Buchholz district. This is not just a simple decision, but a milestone for the future of the economy in the capital!

The Senator for Economic Affairs Franziska Giffey has underlined the extraordinary urban political importance of the new Buchholz Nord industrial area. "This means that the Senate Department for Urban Development will take responsibility for the development plans in the future," she said. With a total area of 221 hectares, this area corresponds to about half the area of the former Tegel airport! A golden opportunity for companies who want to gain a foothold in Berlin and do not want to migrate to Brandenburg.

a climate -neutral paradise

With regard to the forecast need for commercial and industrial areas by 2040, Buchholz Nord is a crucial step. Giffey confirmed that the Senate will tackle area allocation in close coordination with the Pankow district. "Next year we will develop an urban planning plan and create an energy and heat campaign." Even a climate-neutral commercial area is sought, which mainly relies on solar and wind energy! Wind turbines are expected to be there soon and Buchholz Nord could develop into a model area for climate -neutral industry.

Giffey is certain: "It will take some time for the first companies to settle, but Buchholz Nord will be one of the most important industrial and commercial settlement areas in Berlin!" The anticipation is noticeable - the future of the economy in Berlin takes on forms!
