Ostalb cheers: Three trainees under Germany's best!

The best trainees in Germany were awarded today in a magnificent ceremony in Berlin. Among the 207 talented award winners were also three outstanding trainees from East Württemberg: Milena Hofmann, Fabian Krieg and Arturas Valancius, who held out against 250,000 participants in their exams. DIHK President Peter Adrian and Minister of Economics Robert Habeck congratulated the winners and praised the commitment and the excellent performance of the young talents. This event was accompanied by around 900 guests, including parents and company representatives, which underlines the importance of dual training. But while the successes were celebrated, Adrian warned of the alarming numbers of the shortage of skilled workers, such as Schwäbische Post

The challenges of the current situation

While the prices for the craft are focused on the recognition of young talents, Germany sees itself confronted with a new reality in the face of international conflicts, especially the war in Ukraine. In another important event, Habeck clearly understood that Germany and Europe had to increase their defense skills. "Europe has to upgrade again. We can no longer rely on the USA," he said "Europe 2024" during the conference. These statements reflect the explosive situation, in which Germany must not only reorient itself in the education sector, but also militarily, as n-tv reported.

Habeck called for an increase in armaments production and the revival of the concept of national defense. In view of the tight workers and the expected financial expenses, unpleasant decisions could be due. Nevertheless, he emphasized the need to set clear priorities in this critical period in order to ensure Germany's security and at the same time appreciate the excellent performance of young people in training. The importance of both topics - training and defense - could be crucial for the future of the country.
