Neukölln is rejoicing: the ice rink is finally open again after two years!
Winter has its dark sides, but in Neukölln there is reason to be happy! After two long years of renovation, the popular ice rink in the Werner-Seelenbinder Sports Park finally opened its doors again to all ice skating fans. On Saturday, November 2nd, the time had come: the runners could glide over the ice again and enjoy the winter atmosphere!
The extensive renovation brought with it some exciting innovations. While many visitors may not immediately notice that the ammonia refrigeration system has been upgraded, this technical upgrade is critical to the safety and efficiency of operations. A new exhaust system was also installed, which can be particularly important in emergencies. The district office has done everything to offer winter sports enthusiasts a safe and pleasant experience.
Neukölln in winter magic
The ice rink, which is located right next to Tempelhofer Feld, not only attracts ice skaters, but is also a popular meeting place for local residents. It is conveniently located between the Hermannstrasse and Tempelhof ring railway stations, near the sought-after Schillerkiez. But winter sports enthusiasts don't just have something to look forward to in Neukölln! According to the Senate administration, all ice rinks in Berlin are allowed to open for the new season - with one exception: the Erika Heß ice rink in Mitte. Winter joy is a big thing in the capital!
