The Marzahn-Hellersdorf district office in Berlin is looking for an operator for the Marzahn small animal farm and the post mill. These facilities with animal-assisted and recreational educational offerings are located at Alt-Marzahn 63 and Hinter der Mühle 4, 12685 Berlin.

The small animal farm covers an area of ​​approx. 15,000 m² in the Marzahn village monument ensemble. There are various buildings in varying condition, including an administration and sanitary building, stables, functional houses and kitchens, aviaries and a garden for the exhibition of agricultural machinery.

The operating concept for the small animal farm and the post mill includes the species-appropriate keeping and breeding of regional domestic and farm animals as well as the creation of teaching and experience locations for visitors. It also includes recreational educational offerings, environmental and nature education as well as collaboration with specialist partners.

Interested operators must submit a concept that meets the above conditions, including a financing plan and experience in the field of child and youth work. The application deadline ends on November 1, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.

The district office plans to enter into a 2-year contract on January 1, 2025, which can be extended for another year. Financial support for operation and structural maintenance is provided.
