New residential area on Konrad-Wolf-Straße: 600 apartments planned!

On the former site of the sports hotel on Konrad-Wolf-Straße in Alt-Hohenschönhausen, new living rooms will soon be created. DLE Land Development GmbH plans to build up to 600 apartments after a higher high -rise project could not be realized. In order to make room for the new project, the ailing sports hotel is now being torn down. This decision follows the ongoing difficulties and decay of the entire area, which was once part of the Hohenschönhausen sports forum.

The sports hotel, which was opened in the late 1970s, has lost great importance and attraction since the turn. Previously, the area for its plans for the construction of characteristic high -rise buildings, which were called "The Square 3", was known. However, these plans failed, and the continued expiry of the property now required a fundamental realignment of the area.

New residential project from 2025

According to the information from DLE Land Development GmbH, the current plan provides for five consecutive construction phases, which are to be implemented gradually. Construction will begin in the coming year. A point of being particularly emphasized is that the planned residential area is not a listed building, which significantly accelerates the progress of the project.

At the same time, work is carried out on another project in the immediate vicinity. The state -owned housing association WBM is currently realizing 441 rental apartments. The DLE Group is also committed to realizing another residential project in the Lichtenberg environment, which is also to provide 500 to 600 apartments. These new apartments are to be designed especially for students, seniors and living groups.

The developments in Alt-Hohenschönhausen reflect trends in Berlin's housing construction, where the need for living space increases steadily, while on the other hand existing buildings cannot be brought into the desired condition. The various initiatives for living space creation aim to meet the increasing requirements.

This developing situation is not only an answer to the urgent demand for living space in the capital, but also a step to upgrade a formerly important area. DLE Land Development GmbH is optimistic that the new residential area can make an important contribution to improving the quality of life in this region.
