New regulation for Berlin-Ticket S from 2025: notice of service as evidence!

Since October 1, 2024, there has been a significant change in the proof of authorization for the Berlin-Ticket S. The service authorities, including the housing benefit authorities, no longer issue proof of authorization. This means that from this point in time no VBB customer cards Berlin S will be exhibited. However, all VBB customer cards already issued remain valid until the specified expiry date.

From January 1, 2025, the current performance notice, such as the housing allowance notice, can be used as proof of the acquisition of the Berlin ticket. It is sufficient to present the decision in copy or blackened form.

Oliver Nöll, deputy mayor and district councilor, expressed concerns about data protection and discriminatory practices. He demands a quick and discriminatory solution for the situation from the Senate Department and the BVG.
