A very special experience for singles: Flirting is new and creative in Berlin! In the innovative “Candlelight Döner” format, lonely hearts meet in atmospheric candlelight and tasty kebab – yes, you heard that right! This unconventional dating event not only promises delicious food, but also a lot of fun and exciting games to get to know each other. It recently took place for the second time and brought together 18 singles - nine women and nine men. And the best part? Not only was there flirting, but some matches were also celebrated!

Co-initiator Bettina Bestgen explains: “We asked ourselves what belongs to Berlin – and what could be better than the kebab?” In addition to delicacies such as baklava, there was also kebab-style decoration. The atmosphere was perfect - at the first event some participants already exchanged phone numbers and arranged to meet up for further dates. At the end of an exciting evening, a message came with the words: “Thanks, it was a match” – that’s how dating is really fun!

The concept of Candlelight Doner

“Anyone who comes here for fleeting adventures is in the wrong place here,” warns Bestgen. At Candlelight Döner, serious intentions are at the forefront. The participants are selected carefully, and the singles can flirt in a relaxed atmosphere, without any guidelines. Bestgen admits that dating life in Berlin “is a bit challenging” – the large selection doesn’t always make it easy to find the right partner. That should change with this extraordinary event format.
