The number of illegal entries into Bavaria is falling dramatically!

The number of unauthorized entries is being hotly debated in Germany, but the current figures show a significant decline. Loud BR.de The number of illegal entries into Bavaria fell by almost half in the first ten months of 2024 and now amounts to 16,306 cases, compared to 30,154 in the same period last year. The decline in smuggled migrants is particularly striking, falling by 71 percent to 3,382 from 2023 to 2024. The main countries of origin are Syria, Ukraine and Turkey.

Decrease in smuggling activities

The federal police also arrested 703 smugglers, which also represents a decrease compared to the previous year. The statistics show a fundamental shift in the types of entry: While entry by truck fell by 88 percent, 24 percent more trips by plane were registered. This decline has also contributed to the political discussion about migration policy, especially with a view to the upcoming federal elections, in which the Union is pursuing a clear strategy with a priority on limiting irregular migration.

Federal Police data shows a critical trend: 91,986 unauthorized entries were recorded for the entire year of 2022, which represents an increase compared to 57,637 in 2021. The increase in 2022 represented the highest level in the last six years. This raises questions about the security measures and the efficiency of border controls, which have been increasingly carried out at all German land borders since mid-September, as follows from Federal Police reported. The Interior Minister has stated that the existing controls will continue next month.
