Fischer, who started as a chief physician 40 years ago and is still active today, has had countless conversations to clarify the population about the need for an outpatient center. "Modern medicine has changed drastically," he explains. Minimally invasive interventions, which are often carried out on an outpatient basis, require a rethink. Even the campaign alliance Pro Hospital Schongau has now recognized the advantages of soined. Fischer demands that the plans for the central hospital, which should be equipped with the latest technology and a helicopter landing site, are not abandoned. The closure of the birth station in Schongau is vehemently rejected by Fischer as a wrong argument. "There were just not enough doctors who were ready to work there!" The Ombudsman sees the future of the healthcare system in the district as critical and appeals to the population to stick together to ensure the best possible health care. "We have to be ready for disasters and major damage events!" He warns. Fischer, whose contract soon expires as an ombudsman, is ready to continue working if it makes sense.
