Alfons Kerler's biogas plant could already supply around 400 households, and the switch to local heating could not only save the residents heating costs, but also minimize the maintenance costs for heating systems.

The partners have big plans: a wood chip system could cover the additional heat requirement in the cold months, while heat pumps would use the residual heat from the biogas plant. "We work closely with the market town and encounter great goodwill," the partners explain.
