Rosenheim: Shocking danger on Färberstraße - drivers ignore rules!

The traffic situation in Färberstraße in Rosenheim causes great sensation and resentment among residents and business owners. Often just a few centimeters past the tables of the restaurants, many criticize the ruthless behavior of some drivers. Eric Brodka, who operates the "Brodkas Faerber" restaurant together with his wife, is particularly concerned about the variety of dangerous situations in which both children and guests are affected. "It is not uncommon for cars to drive through the street for no reason," explains Brodka, who feels an urgent need for changes.

A central point of the problem is the ban on passage, which applies from 8 p.m. on Färberstrasse, which is ignored by most drivers. This has led to the idea of installing retractable bollards at two places on Färberstrasse. The Rosenheimer SPD has submitted an application to Mayor Andreas März (CSU) to regulate through traffic more effectively for residents and suppliers. "The goal is to increase security in the street and to improve the quality of stay for our guests," said Ricarda Krüger, deputy group leader of the SPD.

To use the bollard, residents and suppliers should be equipped with a special sensor that allows them to lower the bollards as needed. This measure should not only reduce traffic violations, but also better protect pedestrians who are frequently on the road in the area. It is expected that dangerous turning maneuvers, in particular from seekers of parking, are expected.

However, there are also skeptics among the local hosts. Toni Sket, operator of the tavern "Zum Johann Auer", expresses concerns because he fears that the bollards will not show the hoped -for effect. "I have the feeling that through traffic will not change significantly even with bollards," says Sket, who instead calls for an adjustment of the traffic signs. These would have to be attached to a lower height in order to be perceived better.

UTE Stein, who, together with her husband, leads a wine and pleasure bookstore, also condemns the high traffic volume in Färberstrasse and demands more consideration of the drivers. It proposes the cancellation of the one -way street regulation in Färberstraße to defuse the situation.

The situation is tightened by the fact that in the past twelve months the municipal traffic monitoring in Färberstrasse has found a significant number of violations: 61 times, cars were parked in the absolute stopping ban and 124 times in the limited stopping ban.

The residents and business owners agree: something has to be done to improve the security and quality of life in this part of Rosenheim. However, it remains to be seen whether the planned bollards will bring the rescue, as reports www.ovb-online.de .
