Rescue workers test emergency in Fridolfing: Exercise for security!
On April 5, 2025, a large -scale exercise by the fire brigade took place in the Salzach Clinic in Fridolfing, Bavaria. [Fireworld] reports that a total of around 100 active members of the Fridolfing fire brigade and four other fire departments took part in the exercise. In cooperation with clinic staff and helpers of the Red Cross from Bavaria and Upper Austria, a simulated scenario of a basement fire was rehearsed with six people to be saved.
The exercise was led by Philip Brüderl, the deputy commander of the Fridolfing fire brigade. After the automatic fire alarm system was triggered in the clinic, the first emergency services arrived just a few minutes after alarm. In order to train the emergency services in the best possible way, a detailed exploration of the building complex was essential.
coordinated rescue measures and operating sections
In the exercise, the emergency services had to penetrate through a smoky staircase to find five missing people and one person in the smoke -free area on the second floor. The assignment was divided into three sections:
- Northern section: Personal rescue and fire fighting by Fridolfing, Kirchheim and Pietling.
- southern section: prevention of fire spread.
- third section: water supply from vehicle tanks, hydrant network and Götzinger Ache.
Around 25 respiratory protection wearers were in use, and the participants used two high -performance fans to remove smoking. The exercise smoke used had no harmful influence on the health of those involved. All exercise goals were reached within an hour and a half.
debriefing and social exchange
The cooperation between the rescuers from Bavaria and Upper Austria was described as smoothly. At the end of the exercise, Mayor Johann Schild and clinic director Gregor Mack thanked the participants for their commitment. The debriefing of the exercise is used to gain knowledge for future missions.
Effective emergency management is a central component of occupational safety, as described [company medicine]. It includes preventive planning, training of employees and the organization of rescue measures. These aspects are crucial to save lives in real emergencies and minimize injuries.
A thorough risk assessment, regular training of employees and the provision of emergency equipment are essential to ensure responsiveness in crisis situations. The exercise on April 5 is an important element of such a comprehensive emergency management, which is intended to secure the safety of both employees and patients in the Salzach Clinic.
