Over a million views in just three days - that's madness! Professor Ulrich Briem, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, leads through the university in youthful language and has not only collected 43,000 likes, but also a flood of positive comments. The spectators are enthusiastic and ask themselves: "How long has a university account been so entertaining?"

The driving force behind this success is the "Communication Staff Office" of the OTH Regensburg, which regularly publishes exciting content on Instagram. The target group are not only students interested in study, but also current students who are informed about events and activities. Anna Fiever, the social media officer, emphasizes that it is primarily about generating attention. "Spectators should get insights into lecture halls, cafeteria and library," she explains. But not all information must be provided immediately - the university wants to arouse interest.

The OTH Regensburg has great goals: In times of falling students in Germany, which, according to the Federal Statistical Office, has been slightly declining since the winter semester 2020/2021, the university wants to score with its entertaining approach. In the winter semester 2023/2024, only 2.87 million students were enrolled, a decline compared to 2.94 million in winter 2020/2021. But Bavaria expects an increase of 1.8 percent for the coming winter semester. Professor Briem calls up in the video: "Our university is the place to be - apply for a studies!"
