RB Leipzig reaches for the top: Bayern under pressure before the home game!
In the current round of the Bundesliga, RB Leipzig has temporarily taken the lead in the table. With a confident 2-0 win over FSV Mainz 05, coach Marco Rose's team was able to overtake FC Bayern Munich. Already in the first half, Xavi in the 20th minute and Willi Orban in the 37th minute scored the goals that secured the deserved final score. But FC Bayern has the chance to strike back: with a win in the evening game against VfB Stuttgart, Munich could overtake Leipzig again.
Things got hot in an exciting encounter between Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt. Leverkusen won 2-1, but the game was marked by two controversial penalties that were awarded based on video evidence. While Bayer striker Victor Boniface was denied by Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp in the 9th minute, Frankfurt's Omar Marmoush skillfully converted a penalty in the 16th minute. Nevertheless, Leverkusen turned the game around in the second half: Robert Andrich equalized in the 25th minute and Boniface scored the winning goal in the 72nd minute. This success secures Bayer a stable place in the top half of the table for the time being.
Hoffenheim remains on the rise
1. FC Mönchengladbach celebrated an important 3-2 win against 1. FC Heidenheim and thus gained important points in the relegation battle. After a balanced first half in which Ko Itakura scored for Gladbach in the 22nd minute and Tim Kleindienst in the 62nd and 75th minutes (foul penalty), Heidenheimer Léo Scienza was able to connect in the 12th minute and Marvin Pieringer in the 80th minute. With this victory, coach Gerardo Seoane, who has recently been heavily criticized, can breathe a sigh of relief.
On the other hand, VfL Bochum remains winless and finds itself at the bottom of the table. There was a 1:3 defeat at TSG Hoffenheim. The missed opportunity in the 89th minute was particularly painful when Lukas Daschner was unable to convert a penalty and was denied by keeper Oliver Baumann. Previously, Andrej Kramaric and Marius Bülter scored for Hoffenheim, while Christian Gamboa scored for Bochum in the 76th minute. Haris Tabakovic made everything clear for Hoffenheim in injury time.
SC Freiburg continued to show strong performances and consolidated their place in the top group with a 3-1 win against FC Augsburg. Vincenzo Grifo, Philipp Lienhart and Christian Günter scored the goals by the 45th minute, while Phillip Tietz scored the consolation goal in the 65th minute.
These are all developments that keep the Bundesliga exciting, while the table is constantly characterized by unexpected twists and turns.
