Care crisis in Bavaria: BRK warns of a dramatic shortage of skilled workers!

Red alert in the Bavarian nursing system! The Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) is sounding the big bell: one in ten nursing places in their facilities remains unoccupied! BRK President Angelika Schorer urgently warns of a dramatic staff shortage that endangers the care of those in need of care. “Time is not only running out, it is already running out,” said Schorer in a statement from Munich. The situation requires immediate action and political support to avert the impending crisis.

The occupancy rate in the BRK facilities has improved by almost two percent compared to the previous year, but that is little consolation. The situation is particularly alarming in Middle Franconia: Here occupancy fell by 5.4 percent! In contrast, Lower Franconia recorded an increase of almost seven percent. These regional differences show how unequal the situation is in the Free State.
