High-tech from Passau: Robots and AI revolutionize the industry!
In the Bavarian city of Passau, an exciting development in the technology industry is currently being observed. Here, in the “AKE Technologies” company, which specializes in the production of high-tech systems, artificial intelligence (AI) plays a central role. Since the beginning of 2023, the company has been relying on AI technologies to optimize the programming of its machines. This is done against the background that the automotive industry is making ever higher demands on precision and efficiency.
A typical sight in the halls of AKE are robots that mechanically move their arms while engineers are sitting on the programming of new machines. Michael Schurm, the managing director of AKE, explains that the introduction of AI was a logical expansion of the existing programming options. Text and image processing in particular have made it possible for the company to effectively integrate AI into machine programming. To ensure that all employees can keep up with the new technologies, the company has hired experts who have offered training. Schurm emphasizes that the rapid development in the AI area makes it clear how important continuous learning is.
artificial intelligence as an opportunity
The positive view of artificial intelligence is not only shared by those responsible in the industry, but also by Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU). At a discussion event by the Bavarian media group, he said that the possibilities of AI are far from exhausted. He sees great progress, especially in the medical sector that could improve people's lives. Söder emphasizes that Bavaria invests more compared to countries such as Great Britain or France in the Ki area and thus plays a pioneering role.
These approaches are particularly applause from Philipp Justus, the Google Germany boss. He advocates the training of young people in schools in order to better prepare them for the challenges with artificial intelligence. Justus demands that the Conference of Ministers of Education do not meet on this topic in five or ten years, but that immediate action is necessary.
The role of AI in the economy
statistics also show how attitude towards AI increasingly changes in business. According to the IFO Institute, 13 percent of German companies have already integrated artificial intelligence in their work processes. Magdalena Rogl from Microsoft explains that Ki's areas of application are not only limited to technical professions. Rather, AI will also be used in other sectors to take on repetitive and time -consuming tasks, so that employees have more time for creative and more demanding activities.
Schurm from AKE makes it clear that human creativity will not lose importance. On the contrary, the company's employees can be sure that their skills are still in demand. "Man stays the decision -maker," said Schurm. Despite the progressive automation, there will always be the need to bring in human creativity and intelligence in order to exploit the full potential of technologization.
