Stone throwing on the green: court condemned protesters to probation
A stone's throw at a Green Election campaign event in Neu-Ulm caused a shock! While the top candidates Katharina Schulze and Ludwig Hartmann spoke on Petrusplatz in September 2023, a heavy concrete stone suddenly flew on the stage. The 46-year-old Ulmer, who wanted to express resentment about the political content of the Greens, had to answer in the Neu-Ulm district court on Tuesday. He got off lightly with a confession, but the court could not be dissuaded from his hurtful act.
The judgment in focus
The public prosecutor accused the man tried dangerous bodily harm and resistance to enforcement officers. In his defense, he admitted that he had thrown the almost 500 gram stone, but without the intention of violating someone. Although he showed in court that he regretted the crime and described her as the "greatest mistake" of his life, the prosecutor emphasized that such behavior was "extremely democratic". Her plea, which demanded a prison sentence of one year and seven months, was rejected in favor of a probation penalty of one year and four months.
The court finally decided to suspend the enforcement of the punishment. In addition, the accused must pay 1,000 euros to a non -profit organization and did 200 social hours. Judge Gabriele Buck made it clear: "They just got the probation." Another frightening detail: the accused defended himself massively when he was arrested and injured a police officer. He also had a pocket knife and a cubotan with him, which rounded off the image of his dangerous attitude. The incident is not without consequences, both for the accused and for the scareed -out politicians who are now speaking of a new escalation level in the political argument.
