Stuttgart fought for silver in the city ranking - Munich remains unreachable!
Stuttgart fought for an impressive second place in the latest urban ranking of "Wirtschaftswoche" and thus secured the silver medal! But the big rival Munich remains unreachable at the top. The Baden-Württemberg state capital is a strong economic center, but remains in the eternal competition with the Bavarian metropolis.
In the current edition of the ranking, which was published on November 15, Stuttgart even achieved pole position in the economic output category! The city, which is home to world brands such as Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, has secured third place in the highly competitive section of living. Mayor Frank Nopper (CDU) was optimistic about the results, but emphasized that Stuttgart had to continue to make an effort to equate Munich. "Only our 'arch -rival' Munich was able to place itself in this urban ranking before Stuttgart," says Nopper.
Stuttgart as the start-up capital of Germany
Although Stuttgart lives behind Munich in this ranking, the city has left other large cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Frankfurt. In addition, according to another evaluation of the Wirtschaftswoche, Stuttgart has conquered the title of the start-up capital of Germany and thus overtook creative Berlin. This development shows that Stuttgart is not only economically strong, but also gains importance as an innovative location for young companies. The Swabian metropolis remains a place full of potential and dynamics, even if the fight for first place remains exciting!
