Traditional butcher Klaus: After 30 years there is an end in Unterdarching!
In Unterdarching, the chapter of the traditional butcher Klaus is over. After more than 30 years in business, owners Max Klaus and his partner Marlies Huber will close the butcher at the end of the year. The decisive factor for this step is the increasing lack of personnel that has been burdening the industry for some time.
"We just can't find anyone who wants to work here with us," explains Max Klaus. The butcher is fluent in the decline in the number of employees with a truly depressing reality: Four of 13 employees have already left the company. The personnel situation is particularly critical because many of the remaining employees work part -time. "Finding full -time forces is becoming increasingly difficult," adds Klaus.
growing difficulties in the industry
Klaus makes it clear that he is not alone with his difficulties. Many of his colleagues fight with similar challenges because the job of the butcher in young people is becoming increasingly unpopular. While the butcher had 15 apprentices in the Miesbach district during his training period, it was only five this year. "This is an alarming decline," he says. Despite the improved working conditions compared to the past, Klaus believes that wages are decisive for this development. "The tax burden on wages is simply an imposition."
In many regions, industry attracts specialists by paying better salaries, which also makes it difficult for Klaus butcher's shop to remain competitive. The district craftsman Martin HeimGreiter confirms that the situation is tense in many craftsmanship. Some companies have to screw their profits down strongly due to the high energy costs and bureaucratic effort.
The closure of the Klaus butcher not only means a loss for the family that runs the business for 30 years, but also for the local community. Klaus took over the butcher's shop from his parents, and for the owners it was a difficult decision, which they found inevitable. "We had to weigh whether we would continue to invest or pull the ripcord," he explains.
an uncertain end and the future of the location
On November 30th Klaus and Huber will finally close the doors of their butcher. Nowadays, the focus is on finding a after -less tenant with which discussions are already underway. The lease agreement with the count's Arco brewery runs until the end of December, and the two tenants want to use the month to clear the rooms.
The question of what should happen to the premises after the butcher's shop is closed is still unclear. Klaus is in conversations with potential followers, but it remains unclear whether they will also use the sales rooms or only want to use the production rooms.
Max Klaus has no concrete plans in relation to his personal future. "I would like to find the after -life first. I am sure that I will stay in the industry, but just like, it is still in the stars." His sellers have already found new jobs while Klaus is preparing for the emotional farewell. "It will not be an easy feeling if we last time," he explains.
