New cemetery area in Frammersbach: mourning in a modern robe!

A remarkable change in the final cemetery of Frammersbach has been completed! The newly designed area reflects the modern zeitgeist, while at the same time offers a retreat for mourners. At the inauguration ceremony, Mayor Christian Holzemer said that this cemetery was not only a place of farewell, but also of the encounter. In times when life becomes faster and faster, those responsible want to give people space for meditation and memories.

In the new section there are over 200 urn graves, all of which are barrier -free and easy to care for. The grave points are also placed in such a way that they are easily accessible from the wheelchair - ideal to light a candle! An impressive element of this system is the star grave, which was built especially for "star children" - babies who died before or shortly after birth. A large sandstone stele, designed by artist Matthias Engert, adorns this special place and inspires to reflect on the transience and consolation of memories.

The future of mourning culture

The grief culture changes, and this also has an impact on the how communities deal with the topic. At the celebration, the song "Good trip" by Jan and Jascha was played, which should comfort the guests present. The new successful start of the community shows that the demand for modern funeral forms is enormous. Originally, only 123 new urn graves were planned, but due to the great response, the municipality was able to create over 100 more places.

With a budget of only 770,000 euros for the entire redesign, the community is well on the road. The construction work was carried out by renowned companies, and the gardening support remains in the proven hands of Maria Weigand, who will receive support from Katja Schmittmann in the future. A place of hope and exchange - this cemetery meets the needs of a changing society.
