Black Forest bakery Krachenfels reports bankruptcy: future uncertain!

Drama in the back industry! The popular Krachenfels bakery has filed for bankruptcy and is fighting for their survival. With a total of 29 branches from Black Forest to Lake Constance, including four in the Tuttlingen district and two in the Zollern-Alb district, the news is a bitter blow for the region.

On Wednesday the shocking news was officially confirmed. The district court of Villingen-Schwenningen announced that two companies in the company are affected: Krachenfels Handels GmbH and the Krachenfels GmbH bakery. The only bright spot? The bankruptcy is handled by self -administration - a provisional administrator has already been used. There is at least a glimmer of hope for the up to 210 employees whose salaries are secured by bankruptcy money.

Critical times for baking art

In the past few months, the bakery has had to close several branches, including important locations in Villingen-Schwenningen and Trossingen. The bakery itself suspects that increased energy costs, price increases in the use of goods and traces of Corona pandemic are decisive for the precarious location. The employees have currently been informed about the rapid changes, although disguised as a "further training event".

While the remaining branches in Spaichingen, Aldingen and Geisingen are still open, the future of the Trossinger branch remains unsafe. Here has already been closed several times due to a lack of staff. Another shock: Krachenfels is not alone! Sternenbäck has also filed for bankruptcy and is fighting for his future!
