Densification in Kaufbeuren: Citizens defend themselves against blueprints!
Kaufbeuren, Deutschland - In Kaufbeuren it is bubbling! The densification of living space ensures violent disputes between builders and angered neighbors. A round table, challenged by the SPD parliamentary group, is intended to clarify how to avoid conflicts in the future. But Mayor Stefan Bosse waves: This is not feasible! After 20 years of experience, he knows that such projects almost always cause trouble.
The focus is on two construction projects that cause excitement. Urban planning has approved a project in Volkmarstrasse, which was originally planned as a single building, but has now been divided into two smaller buildings. The neighbors are anything but enthusiastic and find the second draft oversized. "200 citizens do not have the feeling that this is taken into account here," criticized one resident. Building department head Helge Carl replied that the neighbors were informed and could legally act against the project - which has not yet happened.Legal dispute around Oberbeuren: Neighbors defend themselves!
Another project in Alpenblickstrasse ensures a legal dispute. Two apartment buildings with 15 residential units and an underground car park are to be built here. The dispute: a third floor, which is partly in the ground due to the strong gradient and is visible from a non -public side. Here, too, there is no urban development plan, which enables approval according to paragraph 34 Building Code. The city administration does not see any objections, but the administrative procedure is still running.
The SPD parliamentary group spokeswoman Catrin Riedl clearly stands on the side of the neighbors and calls for a quick creation of the development plan for the Kesselberg. At the moment it is in progress, but due to lack of staff and many applications, the process is only progressing slowly. However, the majority in the construction committee rejected a change lock, which is intended as a protective measure for land use planning. Riedl expressed concerns about the infiltration options and the maintenance of cold air bars, but Carl assured that this would be taken into account. However, the responsibility for possible damage caused by approved building projects is in private civil law and not with the city.
