Grönning attacks: FCI striker wants 20 goals and second division!

Ingolstadt, Deutschland - The 27-year-old Dane Sebastian Grönning made an impressive climb at FC Ingolstadt! He fought his way into the starting XI of the joker role and has been playing 90 minutes for three games. With six goals in the third division, he shows that he is a real goal scorer. And the best? He will also be on the pitch again in the upcoming away game against Hannover 96 II on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

Grönning is overjoyed with his new role. "I hadn't played so much for two years, often sat on the bench. That was the reason for me to switch to FC Ingolstadt," he explains. The striker, who is 1.89 meters tall, has often shone as a substitute in the past, but now he is part of the team. A key moment was the spectacular 4: 4 against Viktoria Cologne, where he scored two goals and won the trust of trainer Sabrina Wittmann.

A goal in mind: 20 goals!

Grönning has already collected more playing time this season than in the entire last. "I can play at a higher level and have great expectations of myself," he says confidently. His goal? 20 goals this season! "I would like to score 20 goals, but I have to show my quality permanently," said the ambitious striker. He has the ambition to climb into the 2nd Bundesliga and hopes to achieve this with FC Ingolstadt. "I don't want to change, but in football you never know what happens," he adds.

Grönning has settled in well in Ingolstadt and already speaks German, although he has not used it for ten years. His former teammate Tobias Bech, who is now playing in Denmark, will soon visit him. Grönning has the clear intention of exceeding 13 goals. "I think I can create this brand without a penalty," he says with a sly smile. If he continues to occur, the 2nd league could soon become a reality for him and the Schanzer!
