Grief and hope: Memorial weekend at the Ostfriedhof Munich

St.-Martin-Straße 39, 80331 München, Deutschland - The city of Munich will become the center of grief and reflection on the first weekend in November! Under the catchphrase "Remembrance Remember", the mourning pastoral center in the house at the Ostfriedhof offers impressive events for everyone who is faced with death and grief. From Friday, November 1st to Saturday, November 3., pastors will be ready from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to donate consolation and talk. The café in the house also invites you to personal encounters!

a festival of memory

An All Saints' Day, November 1st, is performed at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. spiritual music with readings, and at 3 p.m. the grave blessing in the St. Martin sanctuary begins. At 4 p.m. the audience is enchanted by the "Melody Harmonists" with A-Capella singing. On the All Soul Day, November 2, house tours are planned at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. At 2 p.m. there is a mostly visited “light lesson” that invites you to pause. A special highlight is the presentation of the mourning pastoral center on November 3, also with guided tours.

tradition meets spirituality

The high festival of All Saints' Day not only commemorates the most famous saint of the Catholic Church, but also all the whose holiness is only known to God. The faithful commemorate all of their deceased relatives on the All Soul. Not to forget: The festive service in the Liebfrauendom is headed on November 1st at 10 a.m. by Auxiliary Bishop Wolfgang Bishop, accompanied by festive music in the old style. On November 2 at 6 p.m. there is a requiem for the late bishops in the Munich Liebfrauendom, under the direction of the cathedral cantor Benedikt Celler - a tragic but also impressive musical evening! These moving events are transferred on the Internet so that each share can take it!
