Christmas magic in Erlangen: Concert with the city band and Walter Rein Choir!

Festive anticipation in Erlangen! On Friday, December 20, 2024, the Heinrich-Lades-Halle at Rathausplatz 1 will be the venue for a special Christmas concert. The Erlangen City Orchestra, under the overall direction of conductor Norbert Folk, brings a varied program full of musical highlights to the stage.

With a wide range of musical pieces, from the overture from “The Frog Prince” by Friedrich Wilhelm Rust to “Journey To The Lion’s Castle” by Rossano Galante, audiences can expect an evening full of sounds. Also the Jazz Suite No. 2 by Dimitri Shostakovich will be there, as well as the celebratory piece “Des Sternens Glanz”, which will be performed together with the Walter Rein Choir under the direction of Andrea Kaschel. Rainer Kretschmann, known from Bayerischer Rundfunk, will host the evening and provide interesting information about the pieces. Mayor Florian Janik has taken over the patronage and part of the proceeds will benefit Lebenshilfe, such as the Wiesentbote reported.

Opinions and entry

The concert has the motto “Myths and Rhythms” and also offers the special experience of the Vocanta choir playing together with the city band. Bernstein classics are played as well as modern pieces by composers such as Mussorgsky and Osorio. Tickets are available in advance from 17 euros and cost 19 euros at the box office. Tickets can be purchased online Reservix, in the Erlanger E-Werk or in the Lebenshilfe shop.
