Timetable change in Erlangen: Better bus connections for all districts!
Erlangen, Deutschland - From now on, passengers in Erlangen benefit from improved bus connections! Thanks to the new timetable of the Erlangen Stadtwerke (ESTW), the connection between the districts and the city center is made more efficient again. After a year of restrictions due to lack of staff, city traffic is recovering because new drivers have been hired to advance the roll-out of optimized timetables. According to nn.de these changes come into force.
adjustments in detail
The bus lines were revised both with regard to the frequencies and travel times. Line 280 now runs every 20 minutes at peak times from Monday to Friday. Line 285 has recently offered a 30-minute cycle in the evenings, with a 30-minute cycle still remaining even after 7 p.m. on Sundays. Line 287 also offers improvements because it runs every 30 minutes on Saturday until 9 p.m. In addition, adjustments are made by continuous observations to better use the demand on site, such as stadtbus.estw.de
In addition, feedback from passengers and suggestions from schools and from district advisory boards were included in the planning of the new timetables. A special measure, which resulted from student suggestions, is the extension of the trip at 3:03 p.m. from the Lindnerstraße stop to the Westfriedhof stop to ensure better accessibility for students. Over 80 suggestions were assessed and taken into account in order to meet the needs of the citizens.
Another important update concerns the “Am Bachgraben” stop, which is now renamed “Red Cross” in order to improve the findability of the facilities of the Bavarian Red Cross. The changes are part of a comprehensive program that aims to optimize city traffic in order to better meet the needs of the residents of Erlangen.
