Erlangen Community Foundation extends funding to neighboring communities!
The Erlangen Community Foundation has just released a brilliant update: its funding area now extends beyond the city's borders and extends into the neighboring communities of Buckenhof, Spardorf, Uttenreuth, Marloffstein, Bubenreuth, Baiersdorf, Möhrendorf and Heßdorf!Due to the recent change in the statutes, funding can also be granted in these areas in the future to support a variety of projects. This expansion catapults the foundation's reach and enables it to now offer its valuable help in eight surrounding communities.
The foundation aims to process up to 250 funding applications every year, which include both individual help in emergencies and support for social and community projects. This resulted in a remarkable paradox: Many of the 180 donors already live in the new funding areas, while the original funding criterion only applied to the Erlangen urban area. Klaus Fella, the chairman of the board, explains: “The civic engagement of our donors obviously closes an important gap - after years of preparation, we can finally offer this support in the eight immediate neighboring communities of Erlangen.”
Variety of support offers
The community foundation supports those in need: it offers individual help in emergencies, supports school projects and actively supports their social participation with a special fund for seniors. Particular emphasis should be placed on the “Mama Mia” project, which supports single parents in training and provides flexible childcare options. A ray of hope for many! Applications for these important offers can now easily be submitted online on the Community Foundation website: www.buergerstiftung-erlangen.de.
