TSV Monheim triumphs 56:25 – self-confidence returns!

The gymnasts of TSV Monheim quickly reorganized themselves after a last home defeat to compete against TG Hanauerland. A non-competitive weekend served as preparation, during which work was done on the cleanliness and safety of the exercises on the equipment. This intensive preparation had an effect: the Monheimers were able to significantly improve their performance in the competition, despite minor falls.

The TG Hanauerland, a team from Baden-Württemberg, had its difficulties here. While Monheim was able to establish a clear advantage on the horse and on the rings, the Hanauerlanders at least held their own on the ground. With a break score of 26:12, the Monheimers proved that they are prepared against the other teams in the league, especially the higher-placed ones.

Top performance and buoyancy

On vault and parallel bars, the TSV shone with strong exercises that only had small errors. They demonstrated to the loudly cheering fans that they are certainly competitive in the 2nd Bundesliga. Particularly noteworthy is Sascha Wilhelm, who surprised everyone with his skills in this competition and demonstrated new elements flawlessly for the first time. His performance on the high bar earned him a score of 24 out of a possible 30, which secured him the coveted top scorer T-shirt.

Another bright spot was Italian gymnast Steven Matteo, who entered the triple-digit club with his three routines. He has already acquired 103 score points in 37 appearances for TSV Monheim since 2021 and is highly motivated to collect even more points in the coming competitions.

The final score of 56:25 not only shows that the team's self-confidence has returned, but also that the team is developing in the right direction. Despite their success, the gymnasts are aware that they can still improve. The next challenge will be an away match against Exquisa Oberbayern in Unterhaching, which could be crucial for the progression of the season. The motivation is high and the anticipation for the upcoming competitions is palpable.
