Career orientation rethought: nursing professions made tangible in Landau!

An unforgettable experience for aspiring career starters! At the Landau middle school, the students were taken into a fascinating world of nursing professions. Thanks to the creative staging of the “Scenic Career Advice for Nursing” project, the gymnasium was quickly converted into a theater stage. Under the direction of the talented theater teacher Jutta Röckelein from the Nuremberg agency “Kunst:DÜNGER dünger”, eight students in grades 7 to 9 transformed the serious questions about career choice into a lively drama. In doing so, they became not just spectators, but active participants in shaping their own career orientation!

Insights into the nursing profession

Students learned first-hand from experienced nurses who work as case managers, pediatric nurses and geriatric nurses. In interview format, they reported on the challenges and joys of their everyday working life. Case manager Elena Graf took the students on her journey: from technology to care and the task of supporting affected families in difficult times. “We help overwhelmed parents and provide security when faced with challenges,” she explained and let the students delve deeply into the meaning of their work.

Yvonne Brelich, who described her career from hotel management to nursing home care worker, brought to life the concerns of relatives of a dementia patient. These personal stories touched the hearts of the 300 students who took part in two demonstrations and were thereby made aware of the diverse training opportunities in the nursing sector.
