Painful setback for Power Volleys Düren - Defeat in Lüneburg!

In a disappointing start to the second half of the volleyball Bundesliga, the SWD PowerVolleys Düren suffered a clear 0: 3 defeat against SVG Lüneburg. The home team dominated in the first two sets, which won the sentences with 25:18 and 25:21. In the third set, the Düreners managed a better start and they were able to make up for a few points, but ultimately they also lost it with 25:20. Düren remains in the seventh place of the table, despite the impressive size of the squad, as is listed on the website of the SWD PowerVolleys, here .

The Power Volleys had to do without important players. Diagonal attacker Matthew Neaves was not operational, and player Gregor Pernuš also continued to fight with problems. In a desperate attempt to support the team, managing directors and ex-professional Tomáš Kocian-Falkenbach stepped in and took over the position of the player. Despite his experience, however, he could not prevent the team against the strong attack performance of the Lüneburg, which included the two foreign attackers Oskar Espeland and Theo Mohwinkel. Approaching coaches said after the game that the Dürener would have left too many light balls, which was not allowed in a game against such a strong team. He emphasized that despite the defeat, the team had to continue working on its development.

The Power Volleys now have the opportunity to improve their shape in the next home game on Sunday, December 29th. The kick -off in the Arena Kreis Düren is at 4 p.m. The Düren fans can hope that the team will recover from the continuing injury problems.
