In a decisive meeting of the main and finance committee on Tuesday evening, it was decided with a clear majority to collect a cooperation with the Housing department of the city of Dachau. The step away from Caritas has left a shell for some municipal councils. Adrian Heim expressed his discomfort and compared the decision with a purchase at Amazon after consulting a specialist dealer. Caritas had presented a promising concept last year, but the costs exploded and thus hope of collaboration. The city of Dachau now offers a significantly cheaper solution: only 29,000 euros instead of 69,000 euros, with a reduced working time of ten hours per week. The pressure on the community grows and the decision must be made as soon as possible.

The numbers speak a clear language: 29 homeless people are currently housed in Karlsfeld, with a tendency towards increasing. The accommodation times rise to up to five years. But the municipal councils are split. While some support the cooperation, others warn of the lack of aftercare for those affected. "Otherwise we have the entire cycle that starts all over again," emphasizes Janine Rößler-Huras. Funding is also a hotly discussed topic, and some plead to postpone the decision to the budget consultations so as not to get into financial difficulties.

The debate is heated and time is pushing. Adrian Heim and others demand an immediate decision - the emergency is ultimately unmistakable. Despite the concerns of the CSU councilors, the committee finally voted for the cooperation with the city of Dachau, a step that could significantly change the direction in coping with crisis.
