Iron wedding in Dachau: A couple celebrates 65 years of love and happiness!
Anneliese and Josef Nickelsbacher recently celebrated their iron wedding, an important anniversary that marked their 65-year-old life together. The mayor of Dachau, Florian Hartmann, and the deputy district administrator Martina Purkhardt congratulated them on this special celebration. An event full of memories and emotions that honor the connection between these two people.
The roots of their relationship go back to 1957 when the two met at ASV Dachau. Anneliese was active as an art cyclist at the time, while Josef was a friend of another art cyclist. Josef humorously remembers this time: "Anneliese was a ball queen and quite desired with the other boys." After two years of relationship, the wedding finally occurred in 1959, just two days after Josef was 18 years old. Anneliese, but two years older, was unimpressed by this fact.
an extraordinary way of life
Josef Nickelsbacher, who was born in Tschurog in Yugoslavia, had to flee to Germany with his family in 1944 via Budapest. After their arrival in Dachau, the family finally found work and an apartment, which gave them a new life. Anneliese, on the other hand, came to Dachau with her foster mother, where her own life story began.
Josef's professional career started as a technical draftsman, but after the Bundeswehr he switched to a profession as a toolmaker. He spent his remaining professional life with just a brief interruption at the machine turbine union in Dachau, where he finally worked as a foreman in planning. Anneliese, on the other hand, had developed as a seamstress, but found her fulfillment as a secretary at Grundig and the riot police in Dachau.
Together, the couple received daughter Petra, who later married Werner, the son of Josef's friend Max Binsmaier. Three grandchildren emerged from this marriage: Alexander, Florian and the sporty 2.06-meter Daniel. The latter has even children, which allowed Anneliese and Josef to welcome great -grandchildren named Chiara and Lukas.A drastic experience for the family was Josef's stroke in 2019, which led to he had to go to a nursing home. But thanks to the tireless support of his grandson Florian, who is physiotherapist, Josef was able to return to his own home two years later. Family support remains an important part of her life today, because grandson Daniel often makes his grandparents shop.
Anneliese and Josef have also been involved in the community. The love of nature made it intensively dealing with gardening. Finally, Anneliese decided to motivate Josef to become a member of the Ampertalers, a traditional costume association, which Josef accepted positively and left him active as a youth leader and chairman for many years. A highlight was the participation in the Steuben parade in New York in 2007.
