Rescue control center Weilheim on a fusion course: Emergency calls soon from Fürstenfeldbruck!

Maisacher Ortsteil Gerlinden, Deutschland - A monumental change is imminent! The integrated control center (ILS) in Weilheim will soon no longer be the contact point for emergency calls in the Oberland. Instead, the emergency calls from the Weilheim-Schongau, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen districts will be coordinated from the middle of next year. This emerges from the plan of the special -purpose association for emergency services and fire brigade alarm in Oberland, which wants to integrate the local rescue center into a new building in order to be future -proof despite lack of space.

The press conference of the special -purpose association was like an emotional storm: The 32 employees of the rescue control center only learned about this crucial news the day before. "The meeting was very emotional," confirmed district administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß. But there is hope! The special -purpose association plans to continue employing all employees to the new address, including flexible working time models to facilitate the changeover. The reasons are clear: the current ILS in Weilheim is much too small and the premises were terminated on December 31, 2025. Alternative locations often fail at horrendous costs.

fusion brings change for everyone

The upcoming merger with the ILS Fürstenfeldbruck, which wants to realize the new building by 2025, also promises extended capacities. Instead of only the emergency calls from four counties, calls from the three district circles will also be processed in the future. "We are growing," says Jochner-Weiß. The idea is to increase the catchment areas - before the area may come under pressure due to the upcoming hospital reform. Who knows, maybe the Oberland Association will be too small in just a few years to work effectively.

However, there are also major hurdles: the decision on the merger still has to be approved by the district bodies and the BRK Presidium. Preparations are underway, but the move and the merging of both teams will require a lot of work and happy cooperation. According to ZRF managing director Helmut Stork, "every part has to come to his right". Will all 92 employees be ready to get involved in a new era? The coming months will be decisive!
