Cranes about Wolfratshausen: A new autumn spectacle in the sky!
Wolfratshausen, Deutschland - A breathtaking spectacle unfolds in the sky over Upper Bavaria: Unusually many cranes pull south in large squads! These majestic birds have discovered a new route that leads them along the Alpine edge towards southwestern Europe and North Africa. The Landesbund for Bird and Nature Conservation (LBV) reports that there are currently impressive swarms, partly with several thousand individuals, across the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district. By mid -November, further cranes are expected to meet the air with their trumpet -like calls.
The managing director of the LBV, Sabine Tappertzhofen, experienced this natural spectacle up close: "First I heard her trumpet-like calls. Then I saw around 100 to 200 points in the typical V-shape in the sky." This new route is not only important for the cranes, but also for nature lovers who have the opportunity to observe this extraordinary autumn play. Dr. Miriam Hansbauer, spokeswoman for the head of the Kranichschutz Germany Working Group, emphasizes: "As many cranes than ever in recent times have been on the road along the edge of the Alps."
new routes and their secrets
The cranes, also known as grus, reach speeds of 50 to 70 kilometers per hour. The current populations come from Eastern Europe and fly to Austria via Hungary before reaching southern Bavaria. Your new route could be influenced by various factors, including climate change and the expansion of your breeding areas. Cranes are based on landmarks and pull preferably in high -pressure weather in order to be carried by cheap winds. These intelligent birds pass on their experiences through advanced routes to their descendants, which leads to the establishment of new flight routes.
The return of the cranes in Bavaria is a success of decades of protective efforts that have contributed to stabilizing the stocks in Europe. Around 50 pairs of territory now live in Bavaria, especially in the Upper Palatinate. In order to support the cranes in the long term, the protection of wetlands is essential. The bird protection areas on Lake Starnberg are less frequented, but the care of corresponding habitats in the district ensures that the cranes will continue to find a safe home in the future.
