Onlookers discover the fire brigade drill: an impressive spectacle!

An impressive spectacle took place in Stangenroth when the volunteer fire department carried out an extraordinary alarm exercise - in front of a curious audience! In a remarkable promotion that invited everyone to watch the drama, viewers came in droves. At 7:06 p.m. the siren sounded and the fire department was on duty while onlookers watched in fascination.

There were many exercises: First, smoke came from a garage and action had to be taken quickly because a person was said to be in danger. The fire departments from Stangenroth, Burkardroth, Wollbach, Zahlbach and Gfäll were deployed. In the next scenario, a fire broke out in a hall and two people were missing - an explosive case that immediately required additional breathing apparatus. The drama escalated further when the exercise simulated a fictitious water supply outage, meaning firefighters had to transport water from a well to the scene.

An exciting final scenario

The last scenario was particularly dramatic: an onlooker “ran over” a cyclist at the turnoff to the Rhönfesthalle. This fictional “victim” was indeed worth an experience! The tense minutes in which the Frauenroth, Lauter, Premich, Stralsbach and Waldfenster fire departments were alerted captivated the audience. After the approximately one-hour exercise, around 100 firefighters gathered in the Stangenroth fire station for a debriefing. The commander, Sebastian Metz, was satisfied with how things went and said that while there is always room for improvement, that is exactly what we train for during such exercises.
