Vandalism in Mainaschaff: Police are asking for information about the suspected perpetrator!
The mood in Aschaffenburg is tense after a deliberate act of vandalism damaged several cars on the main street on Saturday evening Bavaria Police reported. An attentive resident observed a man approximately 190 cm tall, wearing a gray cap and a gray/black jacket, damaging four parked vehicles. The material damage caused by this incident is estimated at several thousand euros. The police are urgently asking for information from witnesses who can help clarify the incident, as the perpetrator fled in the direction of Bauhof/Aschaffstrasse.
Demonstrations in the city
On the same weekend, a large demonstration took place, organized by the “Aschaffenburg stands up” alliance. Around 1,700 participants protested against the federal government's policies, while around 700 people gathered for counter-demonstrations at Theaterplatz Primavera24 reported. Despite the peaceful atmosphere, an incident occurred in which a man gave the Hitler salute and was subsequently arrested. This enjoyable part of the meeting was criticized by Aschaffenburg Green City Councilor Thomas Giegerich, who noted that many demonstrators didn't even know who they were protesting with.
The police draw a positive conclusion from the protests that moved through the city center with the use of 60 tractors. However, the rallies caused significant traffic delays, which clouded the image of the peaceful demonstration. The investigation into the vandalism and the incidents during the protests is in full swing.
