Tanker accident: A6 in Ansbach closed for hours!

A serious accident on Autobahn 6 in the Ansbach district is causing a stir. A tanker truck overturned and blocked the road in both directions. The 45-year-old driver was lucky in the accident and escaped with minor injuries idowa.de reported. The accident happened late on Friday evening and the exact cause of the accident is currently unclear. The tanker truck that was loading bioethanol came to rest across the road, causing a large part of it to protrude into the oncoming lane. In order to be able to carry out a rescue, the dangerous goods first had to be pumped out using a special vehicle. The road closure was expected to last until the morning.

Black market for fireworks

Meanwhile, customs in another region are chasing the illegal pyrotechnics trade. On Autobahn 17 between Breitenau and Dresden, customs stopped a truck with a shocking amount of one ton of banned fireworks. The 31-year-old driver, who documented wanting to transport food, had hidden the dangerous items behind pallets sueddeutsche.de reported. During the inspection it turned out that there were more than 5,000 fireworks as well as various battery fireworks in the more demanding categories F3 and F4. These may only be transported and stored with special permission.

The authorities have now initiated criminal proceedings for violating the Explosives Act. In Germany, private individuals are not permitted to store more than one kilogram of certain fireworks items in their living spaces.
