Young people shape the future: ideas for Sulzbach-Rosenberg!
An exciting future in view! In Sulzbach-Rosenberg, young people between the ages of 12 and 18 have had the opportunity to express their wishes and ideas for domestic leisure activities in a special series of events. To the initiative "Say what - shape the future of your homeland!" over 40 young people flocked to the youth center hammock over two days. With free drinks and meals, the atmosphere was further spiced up, while they realized their ideas in groups. Andrea Weber from the district youth ring led the discussions and helped to bundle the numerous ideas.
The results are promising! The first group, consisting of 12- to 14-year-olds, started on Friday, while the older ones raised their voices on Saturday. The participants criticized defects, expressed creativity and sorted their suggestions with adhesive dots. Mayor Stefan Frank was present at the final round to promote the dialogue between young people and city representatives. The young people signaled strong interest in new leisure activities, including the trend of hobby horsing-riding on hobby horses-which is not yet represented in the city.
Wishlist of the youth
A big concern of the young people is the creation of a McDonalds in the city-a wish that has already come up in the past and is fueled by a failed proposal for a fast food system at the toilet school. The adolescents also employ the security conditions in the city park; Despite praise for the green area, a higher police presence is required. Cameras do not seem to be feasible for legal reasons, but Mayor Frank emphasized that security in the city has top priority.
From urgent requests for renovations, such as the skate park or the HCA gymnasium, to creative ideas such as a new ice rink, ninja course and more benches in the city center-the list of wishes is long! The suggestions were also the desire for a year -round bath, which has been in the room for two decades. Anita Kinscher from municipal youth work pointed out that the implementation of such proposals often depends on the financial means of the city, which could dampen the hopes of the young people for a quick implementation.
