Zollernalbkreis, Deutschland - The winter preparations in the Zollernalb district are in full swing! The roadmasters in Albstadt-Lautlingen and Balingen are ready to free the streets of snow and ice. From 3 a.m., up to 20 vehicles are available to keep the streets safe. The cold season is approaching and the employees are well equipped!

With a supply of 5,300 tons of anxiety and 250 tons of salt solution, the roadmasters are prepared for the challenges of winter. Compared to the winter of 2023/24, in which 4,158 tons of salt and 480 tons of brine were used, preparation is particularly extensive this year. Stephan Ziegler, Head of the Office for Road and Rady Construction, emphasizes the importance of the right equipment for drivers: "In addition to an adapted driving style, it is essential to equip your car accordingly- this clearly includes the winter tires."

But that's not all! In order to increase safety on the streets, the most modern smoothing facilities are used in the region. These five systems are equipped with different sensors that capture important data such as air humidity, temperature and residual salt. This information is calculated based on the dew point, which is responsible for the formation of smoothing. The winter service management will receive a signal in good time if there is a risk of smoothness. The roadmasters are not only prepared, but also rely on innovative technology to ensure the safety of all road users!
