Addiction advice in Stuttgart: Highest demand for five years!

Stuttgart, Deutschland - Stuttgart, the addiction trap strikes again! More and more people in Baden-Württemberg are reporting in addiction advice centers-an alarming increase that has the alarm bells ring! Almost 64,000 consultations were recorded last year, a clear jump compared to around 60,000 in 2022! This is the first increase in five years. Particularly striking: three out of four those seeking help are men. Almost half of the consultations, exactly 48.6 percent, are about alcohol problems. But the drug crisis also shows that the consumption of cannabis and cocaine is on the rise, with 21.4 percent and 4 percent, while stimulants are at least 2.9 percent!

help in need!

The search for help brings light into the dark: Around 100 outpatient advice centers and correctional facilities are ready to offer advice and support. Over 500 specialists are in use to assist those affected. Despite these efforts, the time for every client is becoming increasingly scarce, which the state office is complaining about for addiction issues. But there are bright spots: more than half of the supervisors can report a positive development. 67.6 percent ended their care according to schedule, which often means mediation in rehabilitation.

shocking data on cannabis partialization

The partialization of cannabis that comes into force in 2024 is not yet evident in the statistics! The decline in allocations to early intervention programs is alarming. Christa Niemeier warns of the state office: The police and judiciary hardly refer young people to these important programs! A missed opportunity for conspicuous first consumers. The new chairman, Dorothea Aschke, confirms: It is a big challenge to get to the cannabis clientele early on! A summer without drugs is more necessary than ever!
