Villingen-Schwenningen, Deutschland - in Villingen-Schwenningen Mike Kopp causes culinary sensations with his food truck "Cook 'n' roll-the rolling canteen"! The 37-year-old chef, who took the step into self-employment in April 2023, presents good-middle German cuisine with an exciting twist-inspired by oriental and Mediterranean flavors. Its dishes are a festival for the senses: Zucchini hugs Kalamata olives and tomatoes, while crisp sprouts and inserted onions are served on homemade brown of sourdough bread. a brave step into the gastronomy

The gastronomy is not an easy patch, and yet Kopp could not be put off. With over 20 years of experience in upscale gastronomy, including in the Solitude Castle in Stuttgart, he knew what was important. "I had nothing to lose," he explains. Despite the high competition between burger and french trucks, he opted for a unique concept: roast beef with potato cheddar puree and teriyaki Jus or South Tyrolean duo-his dishes are a real pleasure! And the response speaks for itself: On a single day, Kopp has already issued 600 dishes - in brooding heat!

In order to be up to the challenges of independence, Kopp was looking for support from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Black Forest-Baar-Heuberg. "The advice was gold," he enthuses and emphasizes how important it is to have a solid business plan. His concept not only attracts gourmets, but also inquiries for larger catering, which is why he recently acquired a second, larger food truck. It is well prepared for weddings and company celebrations-the future looks rosy for the creative cook from Villingen-Schwenningen!
